You can now initiate transactions using just the Twitter account and your registered mobile number. ICICI Bank opens yet another avenue to carry out your banking transactions while on the social media with icicibankpay.
You can transfer money, recharge any prepaid mobile, check balance and view the last 3 transactions using your Twitter account.
Transfer money using Twitter
- STEP1: Create a voucher by sending a Direct Message to @icicibank in the following format: #Pay Receiver's Twitter account Amount
- STEP2: Share the passcode received from @icicibank with the receiver (the person you want to send money to)
Example:
To transfer Rs. 1000 to Mr. Rishi from your bank account number 00000123456, send a Direct Message to @icicibank: #Pay @rishi123456 1000. You will receive a 4 digit passcode as a response to your message. Mr. Rishi will receive a tweet from ICICI Bank about the fund transferred by you. Share the 4 digit passcode with Mr. Rishi.
To transfer Rs. 1000 to Mr. Rishi from your bank account number 00000123456, send a Direct Message to @icicibank: #Pay @rishi123456 1000. You will receive a 4 digit passcode as a response to your message. Mr. Rishi will receive a tweet from ICICI Bank about the fund transferred by you. Share the 4 digit passcode with Mr. Rishi.
Redeem the money sent via Twitter
- STEP1: You will receive a tweet from @icicibank about money transferred by the sender (person who is sending money to you). Click on the link given in the tweet
- STEP2: Authenticate using the User ID and Password of your Twitter account
- STEP1: Take the 4 digit passcode from the sender and put the passcode for redemption.
Example:
To receive Rs. 1000 sent by you to Mr. Rishi using icicibankpay, Mr.Rishi has to first click on the tweet from @icicibank on his timeline. This will take Mr.Rishi to the money redemption page.
Mr. Rishi will have to authenticate his Twitter account using his Twitter User ID and Password.
Mr. Rishi then has to enter the 4 digit passcode and redeem the amount transferred by you.

RECHARGE YOUR PREPAID MOBILE OR DTH
- To recharge prepaid mobile:
- Send a Direct Message(DM) #GenOTP to @icicibank to receive OTP on registered mobile
- Next send Direct Message(DM) #TopUp 10-digit mobile OperatorCode Amount OTP
Example: #TopUp 1234567890 Airtel 10 111111 - To know operator code for mobile recharge: Send #operatorcode
- To recharge DTH:
- Send Direct Message(DM) #GenOTP to @icicibank to receive OTP on registered mobile
- Next send Direct Message(DM) #DTH DTH A/c no. OperatorCode Amount OTP
Example: #DTH 1234567890 TATASKY 200 111111 - To know operator code for DTH recharge: Send #operatorcode
