What is iMobile?
iMobile is ICICI Bank's Mobile Banking application that can be downloaded on your mobile phone. With iMobile you can check your balance, transfer funds, pay utility bills, recharge your mobile phone, DTH connection, broadband, and much more on the go.
What is SIM Binding and its purpose?
SIM binding refers to linking your mobile device credentials like the serial number and the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) to the iMobile app. This ensures access to iMobile from a trusted device only and makes it secure.
What is mobile number verification (SIM binding)?
Mobile number verification (also known as SIM binding) links your registered mobile number to your device, thereby preventing unauthorised access and strengthening the security of the iMobile app.
As an existing iMobile user, do I need to reactivate the app for mobile verification?
Yes, SIM Binding is now mandatory for all NRI Customers. To reactivate the app, follow the steps given below.
For existing users (If SIM Binding not done):
Uninstall the iMobile app > Visit App Store/ Google Play Store > Re-install iMobile app > Complete the activation process
To use iMobile, the OS versions should be:
- For Android: 9 and above
- For iOS: 17 and above
Is SIM binding mandatory?
Yes, SIM Binding is now mandatory for All NRI Customers
Can I activate the iMobile app using a mobile number which is not linked with my Bank Account?
For security reasons, it is mandatory to have an active SIM card with your registered mobile number to use the iMobile app
Can the authentication SMS be sent from my device without an active SMS pack?
No, the authentication SMS cannot be sent from your device without an active SMS pack (India or overseas, as applicable) on your Bank-registered SIM Card while registering for the iMobile app.
What are the SMS charges for mobile number verification (SIM binding)?
The standard charges as per the operator will be applicable
How is the SMS sent for mobile number verification from my device?
For Android devices: An SMS will be automatically sent from the registered mobile number.
For iOS devices: You will be redirected to the message box with a pre-filled text. You will have to tap on the 'Send' button by selecting the correct SIM (if there are multiple SIMs).
If I have changed my registered mobile number for my (NRE Account/ NRO Account), what should I do?
If you have changed your mobile number, please reactivate your iMobile app after verifying your registered mobile number again.
Can mobile number verification happen if the SIM Card is in the device but is inactive or if the device is turned off or in airplane mode?
No, in such cases, the mobile number verification process cannot be initiated.
Can mobile number verification happen if the device is connected to Wi-Fi and if the device is in airplane mode?
No, mobile number verification will only take place if the mobile data is turned on. The app will request you to turn off the Wi-Fi or disable airplane mode.
Can I use an eSIM for iMobile activation?
Yes, you can activate your iMobile app using an eSIM. Please make sure that your eSIM mobile number is registered with ICICI Bank.
Can I register for the iMobile app on a new device without a Debit Card?
Yes, you can register using your ICICI Bank Internet Banking User ID and password
Can I activate the iMobile app on a new device if I have already activated it on my existing device?
You may register for iMobile on a new device. However, please note that after registration on the new device, the previous device will no longer remain registered.
Can I access Mobile Banking services through multiple mobile devices?
You can access Mobile Banking services only through one device at a time.
If I lose my mobile device with the iMobile app activated on that device, how do I unlink it?
If your mobile device with the iMobile app activated is lost, you should:
- Contact the Bank through e-mail and/ or call Customer Care on 1800 1080 to request for blocking iMobile access (Please take this action as soon as possible after losing the mobile device to avoid unauthorised access to your Bank Account/ Credit Card)
- Register on a new device.
Why is my mobile number verification (SIM binding) failing during activation?
If your mobile number verification is unsuccessful, please ensure that:
- The SIM corresponding to the registered mobile number is inserted in the device
- Your mobile is in network area and has sufficient balance
- The SMS pack (Indian/ Overseas, as applicable) is enabled.
How can I avail iMobile services?
ICICI Bank NRI Savings Account customers who have registered for Internet Banking and having mobile numbers registered and mobile data enabled on their mobile device and international SMS enabled can avail of iMobile app services. The iMobile app needs to be downloaded from the Play Store/ App Store.
Are there any charges for using iMobile service?
No, ICICI Bank provides iMobile service at no cost. However Data usage charges may be applicable as per your service provider.
How do I download iMobile application?
Customers using Android based OS devices need to download iMobile from Google Play Store. Customers using iPhone devices need to download iMobile from App Store.
Which handsets are compatible for downloading iMobile app?
The iMobile app is compatible with
- Android devices running on Android 9 and above.
- iOS 17 and higher versions.
What are the features in the iMobile?
We have introduced many features in iMobile;
Dashboard:
- Upload Personalised Photo – In order to provide personalised experience, now users can upload photo through this feature which will display on Dashboard.
- Hamburger – Grouping of all quick links through Hamburger (left panel) for easy accessibility
- Search – Introduced Search feature on Dashboard for easy navigation. Users can search any services available in the app by using this tab from Dashboard.
- Favourite Transactions – Users can mark any transactions as Favourites post completing the same. They can use this feature to transact fast in future without entering same details again
- Investments & Insurance – Users will be able to view their linked General Insurance and Life Insurance policy and be able to pay premium through iMobile.
Accounts & Deposits:
- E-mail Statement with Export to PDF – Now users will get an option to send statement on their e-mail ID as well as export it to PDF.
Funds Transfer:
- Schedule Transaction - Now users can schedule their transactions through iMobile channel.
Bill Payment:
- Set A Reminder – Providing a feature to Set up a Reminder for any Bill Payment transaction.
Services:
- Card Blocking – iMobile provides blocking of debit card / credit card feature to users for handling emergency situation.
iTrack – Users can track their deliverables by using Track Your Deliverables services available in iMobile.
Can I use iMobile app if my mobile number is not registered with the bank?
No. You cannot use iMobile app if your mobile number is not linked to the User ID/ Savings Account. However, if you have not registered your mobile number, you may call Customer Care to update your mobile number.
What is the Login option. Can I use my Internet Banking User ID and Password?
You can use 4-digit Login PIN option (you can set any random PIN) or Internet Banking User ID and Password to log in to iMobile application.
I forgot to activate the application post download. Can I activate the app any time after download?
Yes. You can activate the iMobile app any time after downloading.
What is the User ID and Password in Login Option. Can I use my Internet Banking User ID and Password?
You can use your Internet Banking User ID and password to login to iMobile application.
Will I be able to access my current payees and billers registered through Internet Banking on iMobile?
Yes, you can access your payees and billers through the iMobile.
I forgot my Login PIN, how do I reset it?
You can click on Forgot MPIN? You will need to reactivate the app again and set a new MPIN.
How can I change my Login PIN?
"Change your login PIN" option is available in iMobile app in the Hamburger section.
I lost my handset on which application was activated, what should I do to avoid any misuse?
We request you to call our Customer Care to disable the application for your old device.
